Why LEDs Are the Best Choice
LED lighting is the preferred choice for displaying fine art prints. Modern LEDs provide excellent color accuracy while producing very little heat and virtually no ultraviolet (UV) radiation, helping protect your artwork from premature fading and damage. They are also energy-efficient, long-lasting, and available in a wide range of color temperatures to suit different environments.
Recommended Color Temperature
For most fine art photography and artwork, a color temperature between 3000K and 4000K provides the best balance of warmth and clarity.
- 3000K–3500K: Warm, inviting light that works well in homes, living rooms, and bedrooms.
- 3500K–4000K: Neutral white light that provides excellent color accuracy and is commonly used in galleries, offices, and commercial spaces.

If you are installing a lighting fixture specifically for your print, the ideal is to have the light beam hit your print at a 30 degree angle onto the center of the artwork. All you will need is the height of your ceiling in feet and the distance from the floor to the center of your print in inches. Ideally your print should be hung at eye level (60-66ins).

Whenever possible, avoid displaying fine art prints in areas that receive direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can accelerate fading and reduce the lifespan of any print medium. For the best long-term preservation, display artwork in locations with controlled lighting and indirect natural light.
